Welcome to ELA 8 with Mrs. Martonis!
ELA is an acronym for English Language Arts; In our 8th grade classroom we view ELA as Exciting Learning for All! We read, react, and relate to our learning on a daily basis. Throughout the year we will be connecting with characters (real and fictional) that allow us to examine our own circumstances, experiences, and ultimately our choices. Upon completing 8th grade ELA, students will be prepared to succeed, not only academically, but also in the global world that they are entering.
Each and every year new and exciting things are added to our learning curriculum. Our iPads and various themed stations allow students to bring their learning to life. The amazing ability to create and share stories, using techie tools, allow students to bring our literature to life. We will use a variety of apps and websites to document our progress throughout the year. Use the links provided on the "Links" page to search and explore what students are creating.
