    Rebound!  Coming Back Better!

Our goal for the 2022 – 2023 school year is to rebound and come back better and stronger than we were before as individual schools, a district and community.  The past two years have provided an opportunity--an opportunity to reflect, rebuild and become better.  I would like to thank our school community for participating in surveys, school events and the overall education of their child(ren).  I would like to thank our community for constructive feedback in order to reflect upon and improve practices.  The 2022 – 2023 school year offers a renewed sense of purpose, a focus on the academic, social and emotional needs of our students, a “community of care.”

Teaching and learning will be enhanced through allocations of our American Rescue Plan funds for additional academic supports grades UPK – 12.  Students grades 7 - 12 will have access to Paper, an on-line tutoring program.  Paper offers 24/7 live homework help with instant access to tutors and educational experts.    We will also continue with 1:1 and/or small group tutoring for students based on individual student need.

CLV is partnering with Cattaraugus County to increase counseling supports to students and families.  A school-based mental health counselor will join CLV in the fall.  More information will be provided when finalized.  Lastly, CLV is shifting to an enhanced communication tool, ParentSquare.  ParentSquare is an easy to use communication tool that combines multiple communication streams into one easy-to-use interface for non-instructional information.  You can receive messages from the school via email, text or mobile app notification.

Please visit our website:  https://www.cattlv.wnyric.org for capital project updates. CLV is completing phase I of the capital improvement project and will be entering into phase II in 2023.  Community forums will be scheduled during the school year providing timely updates related to the capital project, school safety, academic, social and emotional resources, and long-range budget planning.

I encourage each of you to be in communication with your child(rens) teachers and counselors to address any specific questions or concerns.  CLV is looking forward to coming back better and stronger!

2022 - 2023 will be a great year for our students, faculty, and district!
