Welcome to my room! I teach 1st grade at Cattaraugus Little Valley. I received my undergraduate degree from Houghton College. I received my masters in literacy from St. Bonaventure University. I have taught at Cattaraugus Little Valley for nine years.

My goal is to have a positive, safe learning environment where the kids feel comfortable learning while asking questions. I encourage kids to try their best.

We have a social contract that we write at the beginning of each year. This social contract is used throughout the year. This means the kids come up with the rules of the classroom. Through the years I have found that kids have stricter rules then teachers do. Then we talk about consequences when these rules are broken.

We have a lot of fun in my room while we learn a lot of curriculum. We do many exciting thing in my room. This year we are going to cover science, social studies, math, reading, writing and spelling.
