Geography

How much of the world can you map by heart?

  •

Our studies this year includes a very important quest to become geographically aware.  We are going to be reading maps, using latitude and longitude to locate places, and eventually building maps showing regions of the world.  We'll be starting close to home and moving out from there throughout the year.  As we study each area of the world, any news articles, personal pictures of places traveled, or internet pictures found would be welcomed.  Students may bring in the picture, credit the source, and write a caption that helps us understand the region more for extra credit.

Our end of the year challenge is to see how many students can earn the Walking Atlas Award!
