This year's Challenge will begin on October 2 students will be receiving more information about the program shortly.
New this year, they have simplified the trackers, and the registration form, and have added better prizes. The contest is a 6 month contest ending on April 28th 2012. Trackers are to be completed weekly and maybe returned to the school where Mrs. Labuhn will mail them directly to the Independent Health Foundation. During each month of the contest, random drawing of winners will be selected from every participating school! Prizes will be consisting of items such as lunch bags, water bottle, beach balls, jump ropes, and Frisbees.
Schools will be able to compete to win grants, where 10 school will win $10,000 at the close of the program. Grants will be awarded to 5" larges schools" and 5 "small schools" based on the largest percentage of children engaged, each with at least 25% participation based on total enrollment. (Student enrollment of 225 or more will be considered a large school; enrollment under 225 is considered a small school).
the Intermediate building as been very successful over the past 3 years our goal is repeat and make it three!
The grant monies have gone to enhance the Physical Education Department as well as last year a Fitness day the that all students from the Intermediate Campus experienced at the Olean YMCA and an award winning fitness assembly by Kevin McCarthy.
At the completion of the program all participants are invited to a KIDS RUN in Delaware Park in Buffalo.
