Hello and Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year! My name is Sheryl Williams and I am the 5th, 6th and 7th grade counselor and IEP counselor for grades 5-12.This will be my 16th year as a School Counselor at CLV. I am a graduate of Springville High School and currently reside in Ellicottville NY with my husband, Tim. My daughter Tiffany graduated from RIT and is a cyber security analyst living in Buffalo and my daughter Taylor has recently graduated from UB and is an Occupational Therapist in Buffalo. We have two Golden Retrievers Sampson Goliath and Wilson(from the movie Castaway) and two cats Waif and Jasmine. I received my Bachelor’s Degree from Fredonia State University and my Master’s Degree in School Counseling from St. Bonaventure University.
I am looking forward to a year of academic and social growth for the students. As the school counselor, I will assist the students in personal/social, academic, and career development. I will be pushing into classrooms throughout the year to work with students on the Formative Five (Developing Empathy, Self-control, Integrity, Embracing diversity, and Grit).
- Empathy: learning to see the world through others' perspectives.
- Self-control: cultivating the abilities to focus and delay self-gratification.
- Integrity: recognizing right from wrong and practicing ethical behavior.
- Embracing diversity: recognizing and appreciating human differences.
- Grit: persevering in the face of challenge.
The purpose of our our social emotional education program is to help our students learn to do their best and be their best!
