End of the Year Events

Good Morning, this is Tina Maines, High School Principal. I am excited to share updates regarding all the end of the year planning! An FAQ document is attached regarding interim guidance for end of academic year celebrations. Please note, this is current guidance as of April 12th and is subject to change.
Graduation: Plans are underway for an outdoor graduation with a set number of guests. We are looking at utilizing our football field.
1-200 guests = no COVID testing, or vaccination proof required.
201-500 guests must show a negative test within 72 hours of the event or proof of vaccination.
Senior students were surveyed about graduation and a parent survey link is below. We welcome your ideas and feedback. We will also be planning a parent zoom in the very near future to share ideas and update the community. We hope you can join us! https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx...
The seniors have requested a senior parade again and we will work with Deputy Will on a route through the community.
Prom: tentative date for prom is June 12th at the Little Valley fairgrounds. NYSED Guidance on prom can also be found on the FAQ document. Our class advisors are currently planning this event. Details will be forthcoming.
Post Prom: Post prom will be teaming up with advisors and including post prom activities and prizes during prom this year. The parents on that committee are always committed to honoring our seniors and this year is no different.
Senior trip: Although we won’t have a typical overnight senior trip, the advisors are planning many day activities based on student feedback. Seniors did attend one trip already to go tubing and a couple other activities are in the works.
Senior Picnic: This event is being planned the week before Memorial Day. Date and details are TBD.
Scholarship/Awards Night: Tentatively scheduled for June 7th at 7:00. Details will be TBD, but we are hoping for an in-person ceremony this year with limited guests per student.
Top ten luncheon: Date is TBD, but we will plan this as an in-person event with 2 guests per student in attendance as it may be an indoor event.
Top 5 celebration: We will be celebrating the top 5 students in each class with an ice cream social. Date is TBD and this will be a student only event during school hours.
Drive your Tractor to school Day is also being planned. Date is TBD!
Thank you all for your support and patience while we are planning end of the year events. There is a lot of behind-the-scenes work happening with counselors, advisors and parents. It truly is a team effort and the district’s commitment to these events is a top priority. Feel free to reach out to me at 257-3483 or tmaines@clvschools.org with questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Tina Maines
HS Principal
