Exploratory Enrichment & Arts in Education Opportunities

Cattaraugus-Little Valley CS participates in a CoSer through CA BOCES that provides exploratory enrichment and arts in education opportunities. There are many different types of experiences that our outlined on CA BOCES' website and in the guidelines below:

 Description

Exploratory Enrichment (CoSer 402), is a "shared" program that provides activities which exceed or are different from content offerings found in standard courses.

This CoSer allows for the purchase of individual student tickets for events related to the Arts. and it must be correlated to the NYS Art Standards. It is considered “stand alone”, meaning it does not require a “share” with another district to participate.

 Guidelines

  • The event/experience must be a ‘program’ that “exceeds or is different from content offerings found in standard courses” and align to Learning Standards.

  • Activities may NOT be scheduled on weekends.

  • Food, lodging and transportation costs are NOT eligible for BOCES aid.

  • Admission tickets are NOT eligible for BOCES aid.

  • There must be a share between at least two districts. Once two districts have requested the event/experience, any other district may join in.

  • Activities may NOT generate school or college credit.

  • Costs of using specialized facilities are eligible for aid.

  • Activities must align to Learning Standards for the Arts.

  • Activities may be scheduled on weekends.

  • Food, lodging and transportation costs are NOT eligible for BOCES aid.

  • Any travel involved must be considered a ‘school event’, requiring the district responsible for transportation.

  • No share between districts is required. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 How to Apply

  1. Complete the Authorization Form

  2. Complete the Enrichment Lesson Plan

  3. Submit both forms to the Director of Curriculum and Instruction at least 8 weeks before the event. Be sure to include copies of quotes or other documentation from the event/venue.
