The CLV Esports team emerged victorious at the Cattaraugus County Esports Championship held at Jamestown Community College in Olean, defeating 15 other teams in a fierce day of competition. The tournament drew top gaming talent from across the county, and CLV rose to the challenge with skill, teamwork, and determination.
The team brought home first place in the Super Smash Bros. Tournament and secured second place in the Mario Kart Tournament, earning them the overall championship title. In recognition of their outstanding performance, a custom-designed trophy and championship banner will soon be displayed at CLV, following the completion of name engravings.
“This is a big win for our esports program,” said Coach Cordell Harris. “Our students trained hard, worked together, and represented CLV with pride. We couldn’t be more proud of their accomplishment.”
As esports continues to grow in popularity in schools across the nation, victories like this highlight the value of competitive gaming as a platform for developing strategic thinking, communication, and leadership among students.
Congratulations to the CLV Esports team on their well-deserved success!
